Barry Bauer’s photo project 2004
Press operator Harlan Stahl (left) must have been proud to see his name on the Welcome sign just outside the main entrance at Federal-Mogul. Well liked plant manager Matt Armitage congratulates Harlan on his retirement on June 1, 1980. Matt passed away on August 1, 2003.
They used to put up the names of customer representatives or F-M dignitaries that visited the plant. Like many things, the sign is long gone.
The insert on the bottom left corner of the photo shows Harlan in 1997, he passed away in June of 2001.
