Special Mint Fest display at Art Gallery

A special Mint Festival display at the Art Gallery will feature the works of St. Johns artist Marsha Stevens. The presentation follows her appearance at the Gallery the first Sunday of August.

Above, Ms Stevens holds two ornaments which will be displayed complete with mint plants and colors in keeping with the Mint Fest theme.

Ms Stevens’ artistry involves the intricate details of painting theme scenes on various types of ornaments such as Christmas decorations.

One of her most expansive efforts occurred last summer during a visit to the United States by a delegation from Japan. In commemoration of their trip, she completed 95 ornaments reflecting a Michigan theme complete with a small lake scene, representative of Michigan, including a loon, a robin (the state bird), apple blossoms and pine trees.
