Two free events are taking place at Community Christian Church in St. Johns, 400 E. State Street (M-21), which the public is invited to attend. The first event, “Fun in the Son,” takes place on Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. The evening begins with hotdogs on the grill. The Community Christian Praise Band and guest musicians will then present a concert consisting of contemporary Christian music. The evening will conclude with a short inspirational message.
The second event being hosted at the church is the “Fall Kick-Off” of children’s and youth ministry programs on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This event is for ages pre-school through high school, and there is also a group Bible study for adults. There will be a bounce-house and slide inflatables, gutter Sundaes, and carnival games with prizes. Children and youth will be introduced to their teachers and the lessons they will be studying in upcoming weeks. Additionally, kids will get a chance to meet Jeff Kimberly, the church’s new Associate Minister in charge of children’s and youth ministry.
