Generous donor appears at the Museum
Lyle Knight read our newsletter and generously offered to fill some of the Museum’s needs as mentioned on the wish list.

Gerri Wyble, Elaine Rise, and Lyle Knight
Mr. Knight met us at Gilroy’s Hardware and bought the Paine-Gillam-Scott Museum a new Hoover vacuum cleaner. After that purchase, he said that he thought it would cost considerably more, so he offered to go straight to RadioShack and buy us a much-needed phone system.
We are grateful to Mr. Knight.

REMIX Teens Dance For Those Who Can’t
Reunion of Lansing Artillery Unit
A reunion of former members of the Lansing based 4th Battalion, 20th Field Artillery will take place on Saturday, September 19 starting at 4 p.m. Unit members, friends and their families will gather at the VFW hall in Charlotte, Michigan to renew and share friendship, camaraderie, and patriotic memories. A catered meal will began at 6 p.m. following the 4 p.m. social hour.
The unit has fostered thousands of mid-Michigan area veterans during the years 1959–1992, not only from Lansing, but also from Portland, Fowler, Charlotte, and Jackson just to name a few surrounding communities. “We would like to get as many former members together to swap stories and share collective memorabilia”, stated Sergeant Major (Ret) Ron Coultes, 2009 reunion committee chairman.
The artillery unit was formed during WWII and fought in Italy and Central Europe. It was inactivated in 1945 and later reconstituted during the Korean War and subsequently reverted to a U.S. Army Reserve unit headquartered at the Stanford C. Parisian Memorial Center on Marshall Street, Lansing, Michigan.
For reservations or more details about the artillery reunion, please contact Ronald Coultes at (517) 482-6558 or e-mail Larry Henn at usar420fabn@juno.com.
