Ed Chope hired in about the same time the hourly workers went out on strike against Federal-Mogul in 1979. He began as an engineer and when he took the buy out last December, he was the manager of tool engineering.

Although he’s officially retired, Ed is still working part time at F-M. He probably will be until the plant goes down to a skeleton crew.
