A pleasant memory and political advice

The picture of the Robinson women at Alward Lake brings back memories as Belva “Robinson” Howe was my first school teacher at Cedar Lake School in Victor Township. The year was 1935.

Voters invited to learn about Ron Paul

Voters in Michigan will be able to go to the polls on Tuesday, February 28th, to vote in Michigan’s very own “presidential primary”. You do not have to be a “registered Republican” or “registered Democrat” to cast your vote for one of the presidential candidates; the vote is open to independents and members of any political party who wish to vote. Even if you consider yourself a lifelong Democrat, you can request a Republican ballot and vote for one of the Republican candidates.

Although largely ignored in the “old media” of television, magazines, and newspapers, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has developed a large following among Republicans, Democrats and Independents. Every one of these voters should participate in the presidential primary on February 28, ask for a Republican ballot, and vote for Ron Paul to be the Republican nominee in November.

For anyone who wants to find out more about the Ron Paul campaign, there will be a meeting on Saturday January 14th, 2012 from 1-3pm at the Wheel Inn Restaurant (1825 S. US-27 Highway, Saint Johns, MI 48879) with Ron Paul campaign coordinators, volunteers and literature available. Come find out how you can help Ron Paul win the Michigan primary. The time is now. Our nation is on a perilous course. Be a part of this amazing chance to change that course for the better.

2012 offers opportunities

While it may be understandably easy for some Michigan voters to feel painfully hopeless because of our state’s lack of decent paying jobs and our crumbling moral infrastructure, I believe that 2012 actually offers us a tremendous opportunity to finally make the profound changes necessary for our state to once again be the envy of the entire world.

All the conservative Republicans and independent minded Reagan Democrats that I have spoken with are no longer fooled by their political party’s leadership, and have absolutely no intention of sending any more liberals, moderates, or fake conservative RINO’s (Republicans In Name Only) to positions of power.

We The People are finally seeing through all of the false promises of “hope and change” that conned so many voters during the last election cycle. We are tired of our so called leaders foolishly wasting our hard earned tax dollars; seeing socialism creeping into every facet of our society, and watching our heartfelt Christian values being compromised and set aside time and time again.

Now is unquestionably a time that is ripe for true conservatives to boldly take back control of the Republican party, and to resoundingly win control of our state’s capitol.

These are just some of the reasons why I feel more positive about 2012 than any other year in recent memory.

I wish all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
