In the early 1900s the Interurban ran from St. Johns to Lansing. My late mother-in-law remembered riding it to Lansing to do some shopping.
In this photo we can see one of the biggest problems the Interurban faced during the Michigan winters. The Interurban had stopped and the crew got out to shovel the snow drifts. The Interurban was thoroughly iced down and the front was covered with some of the snow they already encountered.
The Interurban station in St. Johns was located at 100 N. Clinton Ave which is now home to Courthouse Cuts.
