Star Lab Planetarium
Stargazers! We are bringing the night sky inside the library with a portable mylar planetarium dome. Join us on a journey through the sky in a fun and memorable manner. Register for one of the half-hour programs on Tuesday, July 24th between 6 and 8 pm. Registration Tuesday 26th is required for this free program.

Chapter Chatter: “By the Light of the Moon”
Children ages 6 through 8 are invited to join us on Monday evenings at 7-7:45, August 6th to August 27th for Chapter Chatter Storytime. They can listen to stories read by staff, play a game, make a craft and of course enjoy a snack. Stories staff will be sharing with the kids are: “Crimson Comet” & “Ship of Dreams” by Dean Morrissey and “The Man in the Moon” by William Joyce. Registration is required and begins: Monday, July 9th.

Get Connected at the Briggs
Briggs Public Library is excited to introduce two new adult computer classes in our Get Connected series! On Wednesday, August 1st we will offer Introduction to Microsoft Word 2007. This class will cover the essential functions of Microsoft Word. Participants will learn how to enter and format text, adjust margins and line spacing, and insert pictures and clip art. Saving and printing documents will also be discussed. Please note: If you would like to use your own laptop computer for this class, it must have Microsoft Word 2007 version or newer. New entrants to the world of email can join us on Wednesday, August 8th for our Email for Beginners class. We will cover the basics of email using Google’s Gmail email service. For those without an email address, one will be set up during the class. Topics covered will include composing, editing, and sending email, replying and forwarding email, and attaching files to an email message. Both classes will begin at 9am and will run 90 minutes. We recommend participants have basic mouse and keyboarding skills, and be familiar with using the Internet prior for signing up for these classes. Separate registration is required for each class, and opens Wednesday, July 11th for all adult patrons with a valid library card.

Bookaholics Book Club
Attention all Bookaholics! Our book club will next get together on Thursday, July 19th at 7pm. We will be meeting once again at Bruno’s Bar in downtown St. Johns, for a leisurely chat about “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” by Mark Haddon. Copies of the book are now available at the library circulation desk, so stop by and pick up your copy today. All bookaholics ages 21 and up with a valid library card are invited to attend.

Guessing Contest Winners
Guessing contest winners for the week of June 18th are Brennan Welch (age 9) and Katelyn Thelen (age6). Both guessed 122 feathers. There were 124 feathers.

Library Closure
The Library will be closed Wednesday July 4th in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. The drop box on the Library porch will be available for returns throughout this closure.
