Sudden Impact delivers Classic Rock Aug. 1

Concert in Park

Classic Rock comes to town Aug. 1 in the weekly Concert in the Park Summer Series, courtesy of Sudden Impact and its show-stopping set list of fan favorites. Music begins at 7 p.m. at the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell. There is no admission charge.

Sudden Impact got its start in 2008, but the quintet has over a century of combined musical experience singing and performing at venues around the mid-Michigan area and beyond. The band’s sing-along style and vast catalog of song selections guarantees a good time for all ages – come prepared to have fun.

Band members include lead vocalist Charlotte Ruppert; Charlie Slocum, lead guitar and vocals; Rick Lezotte, founder of the band who plays bass and sings back-up vocals; Greg Rivet, keyboard, saxophone and vocals; and drummer, Chad Martinsen.

Concert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the city of St. Johns, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition, Dr. Robert and Jan Myers are being recognized at the Aug. 1 concert for their financial support of the Arts Council and the summer music series.

Concerts are held each Wednesday evening, beginning at 7 p.m., in the St. Johns City Park. The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand that offers light refreshments. All concerts are held rain or shine.
