Winners of J.C.D. City League Crown in March, 1948
After the Shopping Basket quintet had won the first half title in City basketball play, the smooth working Sealed Power five came back with a rush to win the second half title and defeat the Shopping Basket in a playoff game. The City Basketball league was sponsored by the Junior Chamber of Commerce this year.

Clinton county people will have an opportunity to inspect one of the most modern small manufacturing plants in the country this Friday night when the St. Johns division of the Sealed Power Corporation stages their first annual Open House from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tours through the plant have been arranged for that evening and visitors will be shown the many operations that go into the manufacture of piston rings.
