The second picture of man holding the catfish in front of the brick building is William E. Wagar. I have the orginal photo with a small article stating he is holding a 25 pound catfish caught in the Maple River. Could you please make a correction in the paper stating the correct information. Thank you. Dorothy

I would love to purchase a seat in honor of my parents, Ray and Dorothy Kentfield. Ray, and son Terry, painted that auditorium years ago. We enjoyed Travelogs and Minstrel Shows in that facility, along with all of the school events. Being an "out of towner", it would be wonderful to see the list of purchased seats when the project is finished. That building holds many, wonderful memories for us. I'm glad to see the renovation project, and hope to see it when it is finished.

I am so shocked at the picture of our U.S. Flag being flown upside at the Crosby Mint Farm. I find this to be wrong and so very disrespectful to our Veterans and to the men and women who are serving our Country in this time of war. According to the "Etiquette of the Stars and Stripes" No. 23, and I quote: Do not display the Flag of the U.S.A with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property (Sec. 4, a). I feel dire distress to be, for instance, under enemy fire, being held as a hostage, being invaded by the enemy and so forth. I now ask, does a farm going into foreclosure truly fit into this category?

Hey Barry, I'm not sure if you subscribe to cable TV or not, but if you have Westphalia Broadband, they carry WXMI out of Grand Rapids, which is outside of the blackout area.

This is a very small point about the Frank Buck field. Both my father and Jim Kelly suggested the naming. While I was growing up at 509 S. Oakland, Jim' folks lived in an apt. on the second floor of the Spaulding/Kuntz structure at 500 S. Oakland. The 1956 Centenniel edition of the Republican News had of picture of my dad and Jim at the dedication. I wouldn't want any of the Kellys to fel left out of the history of St. Johns. Cordially, Rob Ebert
