Matthew Ronnie Kosnik Matthew Ronnie Kosnik died February 2, 2003 at the age of 32. He was born in Alma on February 18, 1970, the son of Ron and Lucille (Cernigliaro) Kosnik. He was a surveyor and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church as well as an avid hunter and fisherman, dedicated family man, loved his children, job and golfing. Matt married Tammy Lindsey in Ithaca on August 1, 1992 and she survives him. Also surviving are his children, Olivia Rae Kosnik, Isabel Grace Kosnik and Emily Madeline Kosnik, all at home, parents, Ron and Lucille Kosnik of Ithaca, two sisters, Stephanie (Jeff) Ritz of Livonia and Renee (Gregg) Walker of Bastrop, LA, brother, Mike (Christy) Kosnik of St. Johns, one niece, Mica Ritz and three nephews, Austin Ritz, Blaine Ritz, and Noah Kosnik. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 6, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. Wednesday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Joseph Catholic School Educational Fund. Winford "Pops" Mabie, St. Johns, MI Age 82, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Winford was born on March 13, 1920 to Walter and Lorena Mae (Smith) Mabie. He was a Tank Commander in W.W.II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Pops received a purple heart and three clusters in his tour of duty. Pops loved his cats and trips to Crystal Lake. He is survived by his wife Ruth Mabie of St. Johns, one son, Kris (Cheryl) Mabie of Ovid, two daughters, Sue (Ron) Wakefield of Ovid, Patti (Dan) Parmenter of Lansing, one sister, Malena Rings of Banister, three stepsons, Bruce Droste of Fowler, Timothy and Daniel Droste of St. Johns, seven stepdaughters, Lynda (Jim) Roof of St. Johns, Sue (Warren) Mates of Ithaca, Beverly (Brian) Sosebee of St. Johns, Joyce (Randy) Johnston of St. Johns, Lisa (Miquel) Guzman of Lansing, Nancy Droste Jacobs of Fennville, Jennifer (Steve) Walzak of Lansing, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 26 step grandchildren and 17 step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, his son Michael Mabie, stepson, Doug Droste, two infant daughters, Jeanette & Diann Mabie and his first wife Betty Mabie preceded Pops in death. Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Eureka Cemetery with Pastor Hugh Banninga officiating. The family will receive friends Monday 6-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice for Clinton County. Raymond F. "Ray" Graham, Lansing, MI Age 72, died January 31, 2003. Born October 4, 1930 in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Graham was a resident of Clinton County for over 25 years and retired from the Clinton County Sheriff's Department in 1986, after 26 years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lansing and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Terry. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie; 2 daughters, Dawn (Bruce) Baker of DeWitt and Vonda (Donald) Hamilton of Laingsburg; 1 son, Bryan (Martha) of DeWitt; daughter-in-law, Margaret Graham of Bath; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 1:00 PM at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. DeWitt Chapel, 111 S. Franklin, DeWitt with the Rev. Tad Jameson, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt, Michigan. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Michael John Pease died January 30, 2003 at the age of 45. He was born in St. Johns on January 25, 1958, the son of Donald and Barbara (Haudenschield) Pease. He was a cook and loved to work with his family genealogy. Surviving are his parents, Donald and Barbara Pease, sister, Karen (fiancée William Bond) Pease, brother, Larry Pease, grandmother, Eva Thompson, aunts, Ellen Griffin and Thelma Haudenschield, great aunt, Ann White, all of St. Johns, many cousins, and his dog and best buddy, Madison. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 3, 2003 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Saturday and 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Sympathy may be expressed in the form of memorials to the American Kidney Foundation or the Mid-Michigan Dialysis Center in memory of Michael. Arthur O. Knight died January 29, 2003 at the age of 84. He was born in Bengal, Michigan on November 11, 1918, the son of Arthur T. and Edyth Pearl Knight. Surviving are his niece, Jean (Bill) Valyer Townsend, great nephews, Jeff Flak, Jason Flak, and Jamie Flak, great nieces, Kathy (Frank) Horton Pawlicki and Patty Horton, great great nieces and nephews, Kate Pawlicki, Tom Pawlicki and Sydnee Pawlicki. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, E. Marjorie (Knight) Valyer and niece, Carol D. (Valyer) Horton. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, Frebruary 3, 2003 at the Osgood Funeral Home, burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Steve Weinberger officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Rosewood Adult Foster Care in Ithaca. Ronald L. Schaefer died January 28, 2003 at the age of 45. He was born in St. Johns on October 19, 1957, the son of Albert J. and Edna M. (Shaw) Schaefer and lived in St. Johns all his life. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, was a graduate of St. Johns High School, loved fishing and his family, enjoyed hunting and caring for animals. Surviving are his sisters, Margaret (Robert) Brantley of Okemos, Jean (James) Welsh of East Lansing and Kathy (Frank) Allbee of Midland, brother, James (Susan) Schaefer of St. Johns, nieces, Michelle Welsh, Lori (Brian) Close and Heather Flegel and nephew, Ryan Welsh. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Eoin Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends 3-5 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Osgood Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Snitgen, 73, passed away Jan. 25, 2003, at home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., surrounded by family and friends. Jerry was born June 13, 1929, in Detroit to Mable E. Snitgen (Dieter) and Leo F. Snitgen. Jerry worked at Federal Mogul for 38-1/2 years retiring as a journeyman toolmaker in the Experimental Department. He graduated from St. Johns High School, was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Eagles Club. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu, Ariz. He lived in St. Johns until moving to Crystal Lake in 1998. Jerry and his wife, Ardath, spent the winter months in Lake Havasu, Ariz. Jerry loved telling jokes, playing pool, golf and cards. He enjoyed being with friends and family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Ardath, of 35 years; two daughters, Kathy Schlaff (Bob) of Grand Blanc, and Vicki Rider (Bob) of Burlington, Kent.; two stepsons Terry L. Kolasinski (Dana) of College Place, Wash., and Gary L. Kolasinski of Baker City, Ore.; three grandchildren, Melanie Rasmussen, Candice Rider, and Lauralee Kolasinski; sister Mary James (Richard) of Ann Arbor; brother-in-law Eugene Smith (Donna), and father-in-law Willard Smith of Alpena; one niece and four nephews. A memorial service will be held in St. Johns this summer. Memorials may be made to Hospice, American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Foundation.
